30 Days of Knitting - Day Twenty Two
Have you ever stricken someone off your to-knit-for list because they didn’t appreciate/take care of your last knitted gift to them?
A few years back, a family member was looking through some things I had knitted and fell in love with a belt I made with Berroco Suede. Or so I thought…
Months later I paid a visit to said family member. Long story short: I took out the trash for said...

Do you knit gifts for friends and family for the holidays or birthdays?
Generally, NO. I keep the friend/family gift giving to a minimum. Knitting entirely by hand is a lot of work to just be handing out gifts all free and willy nilly! I’m not sure I could handle if the gifts were not appreciated and I’d like to keep all the friends/family I’ve got.
I do, however, make...

30 Days of Knitting - Day 20
Do you knit in public? Was anyone offended/incredibly happy/curious that you were doing so?
I do knit in public.
No one besides the old man on the San Diego Trolley was offended.
No one is incredibly happy about it besides me (as far as I know).
LOTS of people are curious. I get smiles or long looks like people are trying to figure out what I am doing exactly. The main question I get from...

SUMMER IS OFFICIALLY OVER →
In my younger days those four words meant the time for random, spontaneous and haphazard antics and fun were instantly giving way to days of structure, regimen, schedule & work work work. Now that I’m older & have developed a passion for knitting and business it means the same. Fall and Winter time is GO TIME so fellow knitters GO GO GO! Hats! Scarves! Mitts! Cowls! Shawls!...

Do you watch movies and/or listen to podcasts while knitting?
I can only do simple knitting while watching movies. Stockinette, garter, ribbing… otherwise I miss critical plot points and don’t know what the hell is going on by 30 minutes into the movie. I do keep knitting handy while watching tv. It makes the commercials FLY BY. I don’t really mind the ads, but there are...

Do you knit English or Continental?
I actually taught myself both. Continental is easier and faster for me & I only use English when I am making yet another sad attempt at color work.

Have you ever had a project that you loved become ruined?
Yes. My Quickie Socks. The first pair of socks I made.
What’s the story behind it?
Never allow your hand knit wool socks to get mixed up in the laundry. Ever. They are now felted. Ruined. Never to be worn again.

Have you ever had a knitting related injury?
No, but some people in close proximity have come close. **pause for dramatic effect**
ANYHOO…
I had one older gentleman on the San Diego Trolley actually tell me he felt threatened by my needles. A complete stranger. For no reason. I was just knitting and minding my own business. I wasn’t even looking at him. I promise.
I feel...

What was your least favorite pattern and why?
I can’t stand wasting time knitting patterns with ERRATA! Of course we are all human and make mistakes, but it really pisses me off to think I’m losing my mind and screwing up a pattern with my own incompetence when the pattern is effed up to begin with. No bueno.
